A Gentle Prayer for a Parent Who Is Grieving

God, I do not know how to carry this pain.

I do not understand why this happened.

I miss my child more than words can say.

Please meet me in this grief.

Give me breath for this moment.

Give me strength for this day.

Surround me with people who can hold me when I cannot hold myself.

Let my child’s love remain close.

And when I cannot find hope, help hope find me.
